What happens in a session of Progressive Healing?

The client is asked to remove any outdoor wear, footwear and any spectacles, watch, hearing aids and large jewellery. The client sits on a stool (or chair, if back support is preferred) with feet flat on the floor. To begin, the practitioner stands in front and holds the client’s hands or stands behind and places her hands on the client’s shoulders. During the session, with the client’s permission, the practitioner also places her hands on the client’s back, neck or head or places her hands at a short distance away from the client’s body. At times it is preferable for the client to be still and quiet and at other times the client can adjust seating position, stretch and talk or ask questions. The work often takes up to twenty minutes, depending on what is required for the client. Afterwards, the client is advised to drink a glass of water, to enable the body to more easily rid itself of anything that has been released during the Progressive Healing work.

About Progressive Healing.

Progressive Healing works with the various energy fields and centres of energy that are part of a person’s whole being.

Progressive Healing began in 1978. Its precise techniques and strict codes of practice have been developed in order to ensure the emotional ease and physical comfort of the client and to protect the client from sloppy and potentially detrimental healing work.

The Inner Etheric lies within the physical body and is aligned to the organs, bones and physical bodily systems, supplying all cells with vital energy. Sometimes, for example through injury, it may seep out into the Outer Etheric. These leaks can be sealed as part of Progressive Healing work. Work on physical conditions is often done within the Inner Etheric by touch. Other work on the Inner Etheric alleviates stress and leaves the client feeling calmer and more relaxed.

The Outer Etheric extends out to about 15cm (6 inches) from the skin’s surface and is sometimes called the Astral Body. Work on physical conditions can also done in the Outer Etheric, and is often preferred for work on the limbs and also areas of the body, which cannot be touched for reasons of etiquette or discomfort.

The Auric Field, or Aura, is a field of energy, which radiates outwards up to arm’s length from the skin’s surface for most people. The Aura can become depleted, for example through depression, even to the extent of pressing in on the person and causing headaches. There is a technique in Progressive Healing, which can safely boost the energy of the Auric Field.

The Chakras are centres of energy, which radiate out both to the front and to the back of the body, from several points, mainly in line with the spine. Work can be done on the Chakra points to restore balance if they become blocked or, conversely, flare.
